Tell us what publications would be of most use to you. You can be as general (Victorian cycling magazines) or specific (South Wales Argus) as you wish! We take on board all of your suggestions but are bound by copyright restrictions and our agreements with publishers, these form the boundaries of what we may publish online.

  3. Leigh Chronicle

Exceptional Lancashire newspaper very rich in historical content c/w special detailed feature sections on local industries and historical contributions by local historians. Also has an annual 'Diary of Local Events' which lists the key events of the previous year. I've spent hundreds of hours reading this publication and can vouch for it as being essential local reading. It ran from c. 1857 until the early 1960's.

  7. Midlands newspapers and Hackney Gazette please.

I would like to see newspapers from the Midlands such as the Express & Star, Birmingham Post etc and more local London titles such as the Hackney Gazette. This way more information can get to people.

  10. North-East Papers

More north-eastern papers - adding the Darlington and Stockton times, the Evening Gazette (which served the Middlesbrough area and surrounding areas), and a lot more years for the Northern Echo, would help to build up more of a picture for the north-east.

  11. Kentish Times

This series, with its various local editions, covered a wide area of north-west Kent which became suburbanised into south-east London. I'm particularly interested in the Orpington and Sidcup editions.

  17. Ayrshire Additions

The Ayrshire Observer would give a very useful and more unsually 'Conservative' slant on the West of Scotland.

  18. Professional and trade titles

A smattering of professional and trade journals with substantial contemporaneous news content.
Architect, financial, scientific, agricultural, legal etc.
You already have The Era, so it's not out of your remit.

  20. Coleford, Gloucestershire

How about including the local Forest of Dean Newspapers in your collection. Microfiche for the Dean Forest Guardian, Dean Forest Mercury and Lydney Observer are held at Cinderford Library in Gloucestershire and are a mine of very useful local information which remains largely untapped.

Please include these in your listings.
