I agree, this would be very useful! If you haven't renamed the PDF, there is a workaround. Type the following URL http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/BL/xxxxxxx?noTouch=true but replace the xxxxxxx with the filename of the pdf, but changing all the _ into / and this will show you the relevant page on the site. For example the filename BL_0000191_17490708_007_0002.pdf corresponds to the page http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/BL/0000191/17490708/007/0002?noTouch=true but I agree that there should be an immediate and straightforward way, such as having a 'cover sheet' in the PDF that gives the publication name, publication date and page number.
