    A very important newspaper for anyone interested in the history of Liverpool from mid to the end of the 18th century and the history of newspapers in merchant towns in England. Also the only one for Liverpool in the 18th century in the British Library with such a long run. (Quite a few issues are available on microfilm but are not digitized.)
    So far for Liverpool in the 18th century there are only two Newspapers available online and those two only cover the years 1767, 1768 and 1795. If you want to research anything concerning Liverpool in the 18th century that is not sufficient.

    System number: 013898545
    earlier Title: Williamson's Liverpool Advertiser and Mercantile Register vol.1.no.1-vol.4.no.171 (28 May 1756-31 Aug.1759);
    Later Title: Billinge's Liverpool Advertiser and Marine Intelligencer no.1955-2423, 3194-3769 (6 Jan.1794-27 Dec.1802; 5 Jan.1818-1824; 5 Jan.1826-30 Dec.1828)

    I actually need all the available runs of this paper from 1759 to 1793 for my research and unfortunately it's too expensive for me to go to and stay in London or Liverpool to look through them in Person.
    Also it is actually quite the important paper for Liverpool: The first with such a long run, the only one that covers this long time period in the 18th century etc. And the British Library (along with the Liverpool Archive) has quite a few volumes on microfilm and not just as physical copies. (While there is one paper for Manchester in a similar timespan there is not one for Liverpool yet which is disappointing. The Burney Collection sadly only offers 7 issues from the 1770s which isn't enough for any in depth research into newspapers.)
