Over the last year, we have worked with National World to secure an agreement allowing us to digitise and publish more of their content. National World currently have over 200 local and regional titles across the United Kingdom and we are diligently working through them as quickly as possible. While the Portsmouth Evening News is on the plan, please note that turnaround times may vary depending on the accessibility of the material for digitisation.

Seeking information regarding John Henry Drew (born Torpoint, 1861) who served in the R.N. primarily as a Boatswain, from 1877 till 1919. Trying to find details of his service in Malta (1909 - 1912), where his wife Rose (m.s. Shorter, 1st marriage Gale) and step-daughter Lily joined him. Presently have his complete naval record, 1901 Census record in Portsmouth, marriage in Camberwell in 1934, and his wife's death in Portsmouth in 1968, followed by his in 1974. Information about Lily Gale, who appears to have married young (becoming White) and died young in Brighton, or of any other offspring appreciated.

nicholas Kemball Cook b. 1789 married Margaret Randall Marshall b.1793 in May 1918. Silas died in Paradise Row Rotherhithe in 1945. His eldest son, also Silas Kemball b.1945!lived in Greenwich and Brighton; his other 2 sons Joseph and Alfred went to Australia in 1962 and settled in Sydney. I am Alfred's great grand daughter and am very interested in hearing from any other relatives.
