Any memories of regent Rd, Salford in the 1970's. When I was small I remember walking there with my mum and gran to the shops, I can remember Asda, co-op, Waldmans that sold kids clothes, thats about it, it's the rd where there is now a Sainsburys, Dunns etc

What’s all this pandering to foreign newspapers ? It doesn’t sit well with me, whilst I’m aware that many living in this country have ancestors overseas surely the root and branch of this page is homegrown papers, are you now simply going to acquire every paper from
abroad? It’s not like you have added every city and town in this country to their maximum amount of allocated dates many areas are very sparse, I could understand if this wasn’t the case but once again English and Welsh papers have been disconcertingly thrown aside a worrying trend recent on this page. -

No relevance whatsoever to Britain what a crying shame you continually overlook very important British papers like the Manchester Evening News, London Evening Standard, South Wales Echo in favour of overseas papers one day I hope you ‘get it’ but for the meanwhile we must sit back and see title after title of irreverent materials being published

What a great way to go about your business , very dissatisfied with lack of progress awarded to a number of papers namely the Manchester Evening News, Sheffield Star, London Evening Standard, Yorkshire Evening Post, South Wales Echo and the Nottingham Post all major regional papers which would take this page to the next level in terms of research possibilities

It’s far worse than dismal shame Manchester isn’t a Scottish village it would have 30 papers available

Hi, I used to live there ( Bellot St) in 1965 for a short time. We lived next door to a Family called the Olivers who had a second hand shop in Lower Broughton. He owned this massive van that took ages to start!! We moved to Pendleton in 1966. I had Jewish friends on the opposite side of the street.

[I've just joined the forum. I was born in Cheetham in 1949 and lived in Irlam O' Th' Height and Clifton before we emigrated to Australia in 1955.]
My mother's family lived at 99 Bellott Street. It's mentioned as the home of one of the families in Maisie Rosco's book "Almonds and Raisins about Jewish immigrants settling in Manchester in the early 20th Century. I was very disappointed when I went back there in the 1990s and found those big Victorian houses had been demolished and replaced by very ugly townhouses.Does anyone have any photos of the street from the old days?
Thanks

I’m afraid you’re on the wrong page if you want a company that listens to its customers , they continue to overlook nearly every favoured paper for papers on the most part has little interest for the great majority , I continue to ask to consider the Middlesbrough Gazette which falls on deaf ears

Oh come on surely you are on a wind up ? you can’t keep fobbing off the Manchester Evening News in favour of these delightful little ditties from the suburbs it truly does amaze me how you shun one of Britain’s top papers each week
