Gateshead Post
The Gateshead Post was launched in 1946 and ended in 2003 being bought up by Thomson Regional Newspapers. The paper is a fabulous source of local news that rarely hit the other mainstream newspapers such as the Evening Chronicle or Newcastle Journal. In addition, it made substantial use of photographs of local events and people.

Hard copies of the Gateshead Post are available in bound books in Gateshead Central Library. They were donated by the company I work for, ncjMedia, which took over the Gateshead Post, circa early 2000s

Do you have a copy of a photo that would have been in the Gateshead Post between 29th March and 3rd April 1979. It is of Alan Benn doing a guiness book of record for peeling 50lb of onions. He won the record
