As the port of Wisbech imported and exported large quantities of materials, the local paper contains a lot of items on the ships and their crews, as well as ship building and as customs and excise activities.
The River and canal also provides plenty of newspaper material including the fenskating. The Wisbech Working Men's Institute was nationally recognised.

Can only echo the other comments, it would be great to have our local newspaper history at the end of my keyboard.

Wisbech is a very interesting town, historically, and with the interest in local and family history increasing, it would be great to have our local newspapers included in your database. I have found searching your database very helpful for my own research, but the more newspapers you include, the better!

As the largest town in the area its papers cover three counties News.

These newspapers cover many historical features in and around Wisbech as well as the culture going back many years. It would be wonderful to see these newspapers covered by BNA

The Wisbech Advertiser and the Wisbech Standard both covered a relatively broad area of the East Anglian Fenland. Wisbech is designated as 'Capital of the Fens' and is where three counties meet, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire. Either publication would be a welcome addition to the British Newspaper Archive.

I am looking for 2 things 1) the front page of Wisbech Standard from Dec 1972 to September 1973. Specifically for 1) Personality Girl Finalists. Jane Clarke on front page.
2) Article about Jane Clarke (Former runner up Personality Girl) going to Iran in June 1973.
