London Daily Chronicle
Although the London Daily Chronicle was one of the most influential and highest-circulation newspapers of the late 19th century, it has so far only been digitised in its early phase until 1870. However, under the direction of the well-known journalist and editor Henry Massingham, it became a leading voice in liberal politics. It is essential to continue the digitalization of this newspaper to investigate the political controversies of imperial politics.

It would be wonderful to find out who its cartoonist was.

It's concerning that the later editions of this newspaper have yet to be digitised, particularly as there are apparently only two copies on microfilm - one at the BL and one in the Library of Congress. As well as being an important source of information for students and academics studying the history and politics of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, it's a vital resource for those researching the literature and culture of that era - with writers and poets such as William Archer, Lionel Johnson and Edward Thomas contributing to its literary pages.
