We are trying ti trace my husband's lineage from John and Beatrice Joslin Houghton of Luton , who went from England to Massachusetts and settled near Boston in Lancaster. I have heard that Demaris Buchmaster was the mother of John and that she married a Houghton. Is there a record of Demaris or of a John Houghton with a cousin Ralph Houghton? We need documentation

Looking to see if there is any information on Morris (Mo) Ivans who was on Able Flight at RAF Chicksands 1966 - 1969. He used to 1963 Austin Mini, which I bought from him in late 1966 or early 1967. Could not find any information on him on Facebook. Just curious if anyone remembers him and has any information on his status and current whereabouts. Thank you

Firstly just like to say great web site. My name is Frank McCormick and I
lived at 29 High Street for 10 years from 1991 Luton. I have lost touch with the
friends I made when living in the area so it would be good to hear from
anyone who remembers me. I have been living and working in Indonesia for the
last 3 years and plan to retire here next year on an Island called Lombok
which is next to Bali. -

My mother's maiden name was Kimpton and she passed away in February this year aged 92. Came across your village and thought there might be a connection. Her father's family had a flour mill in Australia. I know little about her forefathers. Very interesting site. Thanks for the background to my family name.

I lived in Kimpton from 1970-1972. I worked at TULA eng who restored vintage cars. I then went on to work at C and A Roberts. I was 15 at the time. Many of us had motor bikes and would meet at Claggy Corner. A few nick names that I remember are Ali, Dimps, Spence, Buster, Jolly. I had a great time. I lived on hall farm when the Thompsons managed it. I hope every one is well

I recently visited the area as I am tracing my family history and believe that my great grandfather William Tooley was born in the village circa 1930. He married Sophia Foster (Forster?) in St Pauls Walden on January 22 1948. One of your locals was extremely helpful and opened the church for me to look inside.

Surely time to consider adding a Luton based paper, whilst we might not hold the same global appeal as Toronto or Mumbai we are at least a local paper and should be prioritised first.

Good morning
Please debate adding this paper, Luton should be recognised more as a large town with a multicultural past
