Altrincham, Bowdon and Hale Guardian
At Trafford Local Studies and Archives, we hold this newspaper on microfilm from 1904 until 1969. It is our best used newspaper and is full of detail about the local area.

When will Stretford and Urmston Guardian or the Stretford and Urmston Metro be digitised? Also will they be viewable /keyword searchable by general public?

Having spent several years researching local history and family history, the local newspaper has been an invaluable resource. Digitisation would make for an even better, more accessible resource for this generation and future ones.
The Altrincham Guardian is well worth adding to your digitised collection. It covers a wide area, has detailed stories and reports, and is valued by local historians and family tree researchers.
Boost this regions coverage so many great local papers that need adding come on bna don’t forget about us in the Manchester area.
Yes please more Gt Manchester papers like these are essential for researching local history as well as this paper more for Oldham , Salford and the Manchester Evening News archives
A fantastic resource for those researching family and local history. It would be really worthwhile to enable more people to have access to this gem.

I am trying to find a crown green bowling article about a competition called The Bonson Trophy in 1962.
My grandma Mrs Enid Hickman won this Trophy in that year.
I have a picture and my dad said it was in print in one of the local papers.
The 19th and early 20th century issues are a mine of information on many of the self-made people who were instrumental in making the Manchester area an industrial powerhouse so it would be really useful to have these digitised, please!
