Altrincham, Bowdon and Hale Guardian
At Trafford Local Studies and Archives, we hold this newspaper on microfilm from 1904 until 1969. It is our best used newspaper and is full of detail about the local area.

Having spent several years researching local history and family history, the local newspaper has been an invaluable resource. Digitisation would make for an even better, more accessible resource for this generation and future ones.

A fantastic resource for those researching family and local history. It would be really worthwhile to enable more people to have access to this gem.

I am trying to find a crown green bowling article about a competition called The Bonson Trophy in 1962.
My grandma Mrs Enid Hickman won this Trophy in that year.
I have a picture and my dad said it was in print in one of the local papers. -

The 19th and early 20th century issues are a mine of information on many of the self-made people who were instrumental in making the Manchester area an industrial powerhouse so it would be really useful to have these digitised, please!
