Sports titles

Hi - Delighted to see the Sports Argus up recently and wonder if more sports-based material is planned? From a selfish point of view I'd ask for the Sheffield Green 'Un (which does cover a wide swathe of Yorkshire & NE Midlands) but also suggest the Athletic News as a more general, historical source. Keep up the good work!

    invaluable of athletics clubs' hsitorians. Would use this all the time for our current HLF-funded project. It ran complete illustrated articles/profiles about contemporary athletes of the day

    Please, are the years 1881-1899 coming some day? Those years are very much needed for my studies.

    Published weekly on Saturday evenings. It would be a valuable source of information to researchers of Hampshire League and non league football teams and, in the summer months, cricket and other sports. Thank you.

    It would be great to see Sports Argus extended to 1950 and South Wales Argus and South Wales Echo 1900-1950. What a fabulous site this is.

    The Sporting Life post war era for sports and horse racing , particularly The Grand National, social research

    The Sporting Life newspaper started in 1859 and chronicles the formation and rise of many modern sports during the Victorian era..

    There are a lot of sports researchers - especially football historians - waiting for the release of newspapers such as The Sportsman, and Athletic News.
    Give the people what they want.

    Bradford's Saturday night sporting pink. Lack of general digitised newspapers for one of Britain's largest cities is bad enough, but the sport coverage is nil.
