The Fylde of Lancashire is a large area totally unrepresented in the Archive once local newspapers became active there from the later part of the 19th century onward. For earlier times Preston and Lancaster newspapers covered Fylde news.

Blackpool has a rich and varied history through both war and peace. Not just a holiday resort, but an exciting place of innovation from the very beginning.

I believe the Blackpool gazette would be a very valuable asset to the British Library illustrating in the 20 Cen how the majority of the British workforce in the north of England transited to this now worldwide known coastal resort, around and between the wars with all the associated social history news. An important historical news and media publication..
