Staffordshire Sentinel
I would like to see the existing dates extended into the 1920 at least. My interest is the effect and aftermath of the First World War on the people of the Potteries.
Dear Readers
We are sourcing what we can from the Library’s holdings and have added 1940-1941, 1943-1950 in the last 24 hours.

I had the pleasure of working at Stoke College as Photographic/Audio Visual technician from 1974 to 1977 and have carried fond memories of staff and students throughout my life. Now I'm retired from the Police Service, but still regret the closure of the college.

Can anyone reading this help me locate a photograph featured in the book 'Changing faces of Leek' the first edition. The photograph is on page 81 at the top of the page entitled 1960 Infants School Leek Road. One of the children is my dad (George Rogers) and I could be looking at a photograph of my grandson, the resemblance is amazing.
Many thanks. -

I am trying to trace the family of Ruth Holland of Congleton who married Peter Thursfield of Newcastle under Lyme 1961 at St. Mary's church Manchester. Her father was Henry Holland. I believe it was a farming family and he was a farm manager. I calculate that she was born in 1947. Any information would be gratefully appreciated

Hi, What a great website this is, a great read.
Would love to hear from anyone who knows of the DEAN family living in Fenton in the late 1900s c. I think my nan Alice Drew born 1954 (according to national census records - but awaiting confirmation from a birth certificate I have ordered) was born in Fenton, unsure of her parents names.
If anyone has a information on the Deans this would be greatly received. With thanks -

Im their granddaughter. I never met them, but I have learned just recently that the Green family were highly respected in their pork butcher's shop in the High Street, Congleton. I would like to know everything about this family. I am compiling my family tree and all information will be most welcome. Thank you, and kind regards.

My family lived in Glebe Street Stoke in the house that had a cottage in the garden. I think in the 1960s.
Does anyone remember?
Ive heard that it is now a nursery or private school.
My family have memories to add to the social history of the place. There were connections to a pub there and someone called- we think Richard- who was a lodger.
A family member would love to visit the family home and show us around and tell us their memoirs -which could link with yours. There were international connections.
I would love to hear from anyone that remembers. The cottage in the garden as far as we know now has a garage door in it! Sad but true. Any info my family would love as we are researching our history -
