The Letchworth and Baldock Citizen
Due to the recent highly successful and widely publicised 'Herts at War' exhibition hosted in Letchworth Garden City, there has been a lot of interest in WW1 related activity in the area. Hosting The Letchworth and Baldock Citizen would mean stories connected to WW1 would be accessible to the Letchworth community.
The early late 19c and early 20c was also the period in which Letchworth - the worlds FIRST garden city was created by the pioneer of town planning Ebeneezer Howard, This work and learnings has spread internationally ever since. Howard's and Letchworth's influence is still felt today by town planning professionals. Reading the impact of Howards vision on the early Letchworth settlers would be a fascinating read to Town Planning historians, planning students and current residents.

Common repairs are repairs that all building owners need to take care of, like fixing cracks in walls. Sometimes, when one wall becomes too damaged to be fixed, it becomes the responsibility of the building's owners as a group to decide what to do.https://siphouse.co.uk/

A full archive would be great. I was born in Letchworth and we emigrated in 1961.It would be wonderful to look back at my fathers time playing for Letchworth, Hitchin and Baldock football teams in the 1950s.

Letchworth Garden City hosted more than 3000 Belgian refugees in WW1 and some of these refugees established a large steel foundry, which made shells, sorely needed by the British Army at the Western Front. This in a town, which at the 1911 Census, numbered only 6500 inhabitants. There are many stories about the town accommodating the Belgians, as well as hosting quite a few committed conscientious objectors. Yes, please digitise this newspaper.
