Hackney Gazette
Would love to see some of the local London papers. The Hackney Gazette in the early 1900s is of particular interest to me.

Coverage for this area is non existent after 1910, seems you prioritise certain areas whilst other areas are left in the cold

This would be so good for family historians, so many people back in the 19th century came to London for work and many ended up in Hackney/East London. This would prove to be a vital resource.

Bertha was my mums mother, born 1876 ,married Frederick Strange. Her maiden name was Newsome.my mother , May was placed in a childrens home in Ongar when she was around a year old and never see or heard of her mother , Bertha again until finding her in a residential home in the 1950's, Bertha died in 1955 aged 80. Even after years of research etc we can find nothing on Bertha between 1922 and 1953. My mum , May died in 2015 aged 95, Bertha was in and out of the Hackney Union Workhouse (according to Ancestry sites) before my mum was born in 1919 and had other children, we have Rushmore road (Hackney) as an address in 1921/22 As far as we know , Berthas husband Frederick died in 1939. Please if anbody has any info , or even photos of Bertha we would be so grateful. Berthas parents were John Newsome and Jane Impett.

Looking for STEPHEN STREET
Hi, I am looking for Stephen Street, He attended UPTON HOUSE school up to around 1970/1971. Last known address from around that time was WIGAN HOUSE,WARWICK GROVE, CLAPTON. He may have relocated to South London soon after and lived with a Greek family. He has a sister that would like to reunite with him. -
