Hello BNA team and everyone,

I regularly use the British Newspaper Archive to look up historical documents for research work. However, recently I have noticed that the page loads quite slowly, especially when filtering multiple conditions (year, region, topic). In addition, the search engine does not currently support searching by semantics or similar phrases, making it more difficult to retrieve data when users do not type the old spelling correctly.

I suggest the development team consider:

Optimizing page loading speed when using multiple filters.

Adding a “fuzzy” search feature or AI suggesting similar keywords.

These improvements will make the search experience smoother and more user-friendly, especially for those doing in-depth research.
