Waterloo and Crosby have such historical connections, not just with the battle of Waterloo, but with so many existing houses built by slave traders, the Titanic/White Star Line, and being in such close proximity to a city almost obliterated during the 2nd world war

The Crosby Herald was very much a local paper, focusing on events that happened within the area. Nearly every family used it to give news of hatches, matches and dispatches. Having it digitalised would be of huge benefit to the thousands of people who are researching their family trees.

The local paper of a major suburb of Liverpool. The paper includes a wealth of knowledge given it was in print for a significant period of time. The benefit to historians and local residents would be immense.

Local newspapers carried a wealth of information which will be increasingly useful to people tracing their past and that of the local community.

A digital form of papers which have 'disappeared' like the Crosby Herald and Bootle Times would provide a valuable source for those who assist people with memory loss and dementia. Also visually impaired people. Looking back to past stories can be of great value. And local history is vital for youngsters to know about their area in the past.
