Would anybody on this message board be willing to go to a house at 65 Westwick Gardens and take a picture so that I can see the house I grew up in? Hello, I was hoping someone might be able to help me, my Grandad George Cox owned and ran the Butchers on South Street (4 the Pavement) and my two grandfather's before him. I sadly missed out on all this as he had sold it and retired when I was only 3. If anyone has any memories of the shop or stories I would love to hear them? Looking for any relatives or information on my uncle, Herbert Percy Dee. He was born in 1918 in Hammersmith. His parents were George and Rosina Dee and siblings, William, Daisy, Ernest,May and Victor. Wondering if he ever married and/or had any children?

Does anyone remember a Confectionery Shop at 692 Fulham Road - now home to Monty's Tandoori? Any information or memories regarding William and Florence Scott who owned / worked there in the 1950's would be very much appreciated.

My 3x great-grandfather, Frederick Joseph Blackford, says on all census returns in Foleshill, Warwickshire, that he was born in Hammersmith. Indeed, I have found his parish baptism record in All Saints, Fulham Palace road in June 1813, son of William and Sarah. Because of his widely differing reported age on the census returns I am assuming he was born around 1901. Unfortunately I can find no other siblings, or the marriage of the parents. Does anyone know anything about this Blackford family? A William Blackford married a Sarah in 1928 across the bridge in Putney, but I cannot prove that these are mine. A William and Sarah Blackford had a family around this time in Wimbledon, but no Fredericks there. Any help much appreciated!

looking for james morton (moreton)b. in chelsea1901/11 his wife was maria . they had at least 3 children,caroline b. 1931, maryann b. 1933 and james b. 1934. the last 2 were born in bromsgrove, worcs. the only entry found for caroline is one for 1971 at woolwich barracks R.A. James later married ann from bromsgrove and H e lived in wolverhampton after his 2nd marriage.had many more children.It was passed down the family that james' father came down from scotland in search of work. I can't get dwon there to look through the records, any info would be greatly appreciated

I am working on our family history and would like to find (if exists) a document that indicates a place of birth for a Margaret Danner. Margaret is the daughter of my Great-great-great Grandfather, James Cummings. I have found a 1920 Census Record that shows she was living with her son, James Danner & family in Chelsea. A place of birth is noted on this document but is not readable on FamilySearch.com or MyHeritage.com. She passed in 1975 and is buried in Hayes next to her husband, Samuel Danner. They were married in Wandsworth in 1949. Do you have a death record of her there in VChelsea or can you read the place of birth on the 1930 Census record ? Family letters indicate she was born in Hammersmith . 'Someone' has modified her Find A Grave bio with a birth location of Scotland. However, I have asked and so far no one can confirm with documentation that she was born in Scotland. Her father, James Cummings, is per family letters, to have also been born in Hammersmith abt. 1923. We have hit a wall with him also because apparently there were no birth records recorded during that time period. We can find no death record for him where he passed in Chelsea. Im trying to trace any descendants of George Albert Spurr who Married Lydia Baker 7/9/1912 at St.John's Chelsea. They both died in the Chichester/Bognor Regis area in the 1960's. They had one son that I know of and that was George H Spurr who was born 23/3/1918 at Lotts Road. Chelsea. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Chelsea News 1919-1984 I am interested in making contact with any descendants or relatives of Leofric. I would like to find out if he was the Naval Officer aboard HMS Dragon in the Baltic in 1919 when my GreatGrandfather and 8 other men (and boys) were killed in action. According to the ship's log Leofric was "dangerously wounded". I'd love to find out more as the story of what happened fascinates me. Also memorial events take place every year in Riga, Latvia and an exhibition is planned. I would like any family of those who had been involved to be aware that these men have not been forgotten. Leofric's birth was registered in Chelsea.

My Grandmother Esther Bridget Whitelock died in Chelsea on 15 March 1957 at St. Georges Hospital .Could anyone give me some idea as to where she was most likely to have been buried . She could be buried as Esther Bridget Pears her maiden name Esther Bridget Whitelock her married name or Ettie Allsopp as she was living with Charles Allsopp at the time of her death at 31 Gertrude Street Chelsea they had one son Charles Allsopp who was 13 months old at the time of his mothers death .Also could anyone tell me where there was orphanages around Chelsea in 1971 . Found in various census returns in Queen Street, Chelsea. Two children known; Frances born c1923 and Harriet born c1927. Later, Frances married Joseph William ALLEN, a shoemaker, from Kensington and they emigrated to West Australia. Harriet married Thomas PRIEST; they lived in Chelsea; Harriet E PRIEST died 1967 in Chelsea. Other names associated with this family - RICHMOND and GARNISH and SKINNER. Any connections out there?
