    I would be grateful for any informaion about my Grandfather Thomas Sturdy and his wife Annie Chivers. They bought clothes & almost anything and dealt mainly from a shop which Tom's mother (Elizabeth Sturdy nee Bright)ran in Old Hundred Rd. Tom & Annie also lived in Rotherhithe New Rd., and Sandgate St. Thank you,

    My 3x great-grandfather, Frederick Joseph Blackford, says on all census returns in Foleshill, Warwickshire, that he was born in Hammersmith. Indeed, I have found his parish baptism record in All Saints, Fulham Palace road in June 1813, son of William and Sarah. Because of his widely differing reported age on the census returns I am assuming he was born around 1901. Unfortunately I can find no other siblings, or the marriage of the parents. Does anyone know anything about this Blackford family? A William Blackford married a Sarah in 1928 across the bridge in Putney, but I cannot prove that these are mine. A William and Sarah Blackford had a family around this time in Wimbledon, but no Fredericks there. Any help much appreciated!
