Ashton Reporter / Ashton under lyne reporter.
Published on a Saturday and then changed to Friday sometime in the 1900's.
Due to the near by Guide Bridge station being a fairly busy railway junction, there are many articles covering gruesome locomotive accidents.

A very valuable newspaper that I have used extensively in my researches into the history of the local cotton industry.

Would be very interested if editions after 1871 could be added

Its about time that newspapers east of Manchester were considered for digitisation

This is an excellent local paper with information on a wide variety of local people and events in Ashton and Tameside

According to the New Mills Library this is also connected to the High Peak Reporter. So it would be great to get this one on.

Most important would be the Reporter. But also the Herald, Standard amongst others

Although the status of this request has not been updated, I would like to thank the BNA for adding 1857 to the archive. Looking forward to seeing many more pages of this most excellent publication.

Agree - more on Ashton area as well as Manchester-Salford needed (1900s-1950s).

This is a brilliant newspaper especially for world war one servicemen

it's great that Ashton is going to be represented, but Salford also needs covering. it's not the same as Manchester and achieved significant civic, industrial and educational development in the Ninetenth century.

Looking through titles currently available (esp. recent additions) there isn't much content covering the Manchester area. This title would go some way to remedying that deficiency.

This is an excellent newspaper and contains hundreds of world war one soldiers' photos

The Gorton reporter @ashton reporter are the same newspaper going back to 1860s & vital to anyone researching early history of MUFC & MCFC
