I subscribed to the British Newspaper Archive for a period some years ago when involved in Rotherham area research but found it odd to have to research Rotherham using Sheffield newspapers. I cancelled my subscription because of the non-availability of the Advertiser online.

A wonderful source of family, local and industrial history, that I wish I could access online.

My family tree is firmly rooted in Rotherham so this newspaper would be SO useful for me. Some Rotherham news is reported in the Sheffield newspapers but by no means all. Please add!

I echo comments on here. It would be great to be able to access earlier copies of this local Rotherham newspaper.

Please add Rotherham Advertiser to your list. Such a big population covered by this publication and so much of my ancestry!

Seems odd that Sheffield's papers are listed and Barnsley but not Rotherham in view of the respective populations and economic ranking to say nothing of the football teams
