Staffordshire Sentinel
I would like to see the existing dates extended into the 1920 at least. My interest is the effect and aftermath of the First World War on the people of the Potteries.
Dear Readers
We are sourcing what we can from the Library’s holdings and have added 1940-1941, 1943-1950 in the last 24 hours.

Thank you all for your continued interest in this title, and Happy Reading!

My family lived in Glebe Street Stoke in the house that had a cottage in the garden. I think in the 1960s.
Does anyone remember?
Ive heard that it is now a nursery or private school.
My family have memories to add to the social history of the place. There were connections to a pub there and someone called- we think Richard- who was a lodger.
A family member would love to visit the family home and show us around and tell us their memoirs -which could link with yours. There were international connections.
I would love to hear from anyone that remembers. The cottage in the garden as far as we know now has a garage door in it! Sad but true. Any info my family would love as we are researching our history -

Hi Leek from the Blue Mountains in Australia.
I am trying to trace information on my birth father Beau Welford who died 1.4.1974 aged 58, and is buried in Leek with his wife Hilda who died in March 1990. I know I have 2 half sisters and a half brother (maybe named Jeanette, Susanne and Terry or something similar?)who used to live in Leek. One of them ran a small supermarket there in 1974/75.
I visited Leek in 2007 and found my fathers grave, but did not have time to track down any relatives.
I loved the town and I would love to be in contact with family and explore some of my fathers family tree -

I am researching the Smith family of Kidsgrove who in 1967 owned the Talke of the Hill Motor and Transport Co. at Talke crossroads, which later became Smith's garage's opposite that of the Paces.
Has anyone by any chance got any photographs, or has information on the Smith family businesses which also included Grocery shops in Heathcote Street, Kidsgrove.

Hi to all the great people I knew and met during the mid seventies when I lived and worked in Crewe.
I was employed at The Crown Hotel before it was closed following the fire in 1974 - so I transfered to The Bell and was Manager there for the lovely Pearl and Harry Stratton.I continued working there until after their retirement when William Dreyer took on the hotel.
Very fond memories of many customers and locals.

Hi, I was living in Crewe (Coach Lane) in 1986 and can seem to remember having our photo taken outside our house, as did all the other residents at that time, I think it was for the queens visit but can't remember too well but it was in the paper
Does anyone know if and how I could possibly get a copy? (I'm sure they were available to purchase at the time)
Thanks for any help -
