Hello, I grew up in Middlesbrough but have lived in California for 35 years. I'm trying to recall a local stately home where I went 'swimming' as a young child with my family. We splashed around in elegant fountains/statues built in the grounds. It may have been called Witches Ball but I can't find any information when I google this. Is there such a place or am I over-romanticizing my childhood?

I was wondering if anyone has any old photo's which show Horsfield Street, Middlesbrough. St Johns Church was at the end of the street. I believe that the Street was demolished in the 1960's. My Grandparents had lived in number 12 for many years.Thanks.

I would like to hear from any-one who knows anything about Tom & Emily Hawxwell who married in Middlesbrough in 1949. Tom was born in Scarborough in 1966. Emily (Harrison) was born in North Ormesby in 1979. Her parents were William & Jane Harrison. William was a publican in N Ormesby at the time of Emily's birth.I would also like to know about William's birthplace & where he was living before and after his marriage to Jane(he may have been born in 1971).Some census records refer to Guisborough, others refer to Co Durham.
