    JOHN AND ELIZABETH BUTLER
I am trying to trace my grandparents, John and Elizabeth Butler, they lived in Middlesborough in the early 1920s, my mother was born in 1939 and I believe she had a sister (and I have only just found this out!! great excitement, I hope) who was born in 1947. Can anyone help me find them. They lived for some time in the Workhouse in St Barnabas Road, Middlesbrough

I have obtained a copy of the 1967 census showing my mother-in-law and her family living in Manchester. There was also a Joseph Alfonsus Carlos - said to be a nephew of Mary Hackett who was head of the household and a John Mathus who is said to be her brother. This could be Matthews of course if the handwriting has been interpreted incorrectly. Does anyone know of the family - who were the parents of Joseph A Carlos and was John's surname Mathus or Cummins
