Newspapers we should add next

Tell us what publications would be of most use to you. You can be as general (Victorian cycling magazines) or specific (South Wales Argus) as you wish! We take on board all of your suggestions but are bound by copyright restrictions and our agreements with publishers, these form the boundaries of what we may publish online.

  1. Why aren't there any sunday editions of any newspapers!?

Really frustrating - is there any particular reason why?

  4. The Buckinghamshire Advertiser

Long running local paper covering The Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross, Amersham, Beaconsfield and High Wycombe.
A highly valuable source of information for historians and researchers. Invaluable to societies, family historians, sports historians snd invaluable in the research of the history of Bickinghamshire and the Chilterns

Selfish reasons really. My grandad made the front page and no one in the family thought to keep a copy.

  9. Sleaford Gazette and Sleaford Journal

Sleaford is a market town in Lincolnshire and the Gazette was the main paper from 1854 to 1960; the Journal was printed from 1889 to 1929, when it was incorporated into the Gazette. It would be a very useful resource for local and family history studies in the area.

  12. Sherborne Mercury (1750-1800)

There are just 50 issues of the Sherborne Mercury between 1750 and 1800 online. Although a Dorset newspaper invaluable articles/adverts relating to CORNWALL appear in this newspaper too. There are no other newspapers for this period covering CORNWALL. The Royal Cornwall Gazette, Exeter Flying Post and West Briton are all post 1800 so for pre 1800 more Sherborne issues are needed!

  13. Essex after 1900

Would love the Essex County Telegraph as the only decent newspaper for Essex (Essex County Standard) stops at 1900
