Newspapers we should add next

Tell us what publications would be of most use to you. You can be as general (Victorian cycling magazines) or specific (South Wales Argus) as you wish! 2. Wembley Observer

    Great localised paper
How intriguing would it be to read the paper when it covered the 1966 world cup

  4. Midland Reporter and Westmeath Nationalist

The Midland Reporter and Westmeath Nationalist was a newspaper which circulated in Westmeath, in the Irish Midlands, from the 1890s to the late 1930s. Owned by Roscommon newspaper publisher Jasper Tully, during the Irish revolutionary period it was, unlike its direct rival the Westmeath Examiner, the primary bullhorn for the advanced nationalist and Sinn Féin point of view. It provided a platform for the radical nationalist MP, Laurence Ginnell, who was the organiser of the Ranch War, the last major outbreak of agrarian agitation in Ireland before independence.

As the Westmeath Examiner is available online elsewhere, the availability of the…

  6. Blackburn Standard

This important textile town has much historical and economic news to offer those who are students of the social changes affecting many Lancashire towns from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day. It would be especially interesting to see how the First World War years affected those citizens living at the time, and how those who lost their lives during this conflict were reported.

  9. Chatham News

This series of newspapers was last updated two years ago, and the planned/promised issues have yet to materialise. Would it not be a good idea to complete the promised digitisation of papers such as this, rather than adding new, obscure titles?

At the moment, Chatham News has just ONE year available from the 20th Century, 1939. The plan was to add 1903 to 1955, which would cover both major conflicts of that century at what was one of Britain's major Naval ports.

Please see all the votes for the Malton Messenger! This town has an important heritage and newspapers are sitting deteriorating no doubt in Malton Library. This would be very useful to genealogists and local historians. Please, please, please

  13. Banffshire Advertiser

The Banffshire Advertiser newspaper covered the Buckie area and has not to be confused with the Banffshire Journal which is already online. Therefore would it be possible to have the Banffshire Advertiser added at some point soon.
