We take on board all of your suggestions but are bound by copyright restrictions and our agreements with publishers, these form the boundaries of what we may publish online.

  1. Chatham News

    This series of newspapers was last updated two years ago, and the planned/promised issues have yet to materialise. Would it not be a good idea to complete the promised digitisation of papers such as this, rather than adding new, obscure titles?

    At the moment, Chatham News has just ONE year available from the 20th Century, 1939. The plan was to add 1903 to 1955, which would cover both major conflicts of that century at what was one of Britain's major Naval ports.

    Please see all the votes for the Malton Messenger! This town has an important heritage and newspapers are sitting deteriorating no doubt in Malton Library. This would be very useful to genealogists and local historians. Please, please, please

    The Banffshire Advertiser newspaper covered the Buckie area and has not to be confused with the Banffshire Journal which is already online. Therefore would it be possible to have the Banffshire Advertiser added at some point soon.

    Begun in 1855, the newspaper records life in this famous Victorian spa town. Visitors here have included included Oscar Wilde, Winston Churchill, Florence Nightingale, Princess Victoria, Charles Darwin, Alfred Tennyson, Edward Elgar (who lived here for 13 years), G B Shaw, Elizabeth Barrett and Evelyn Waugh.
