   This newpaper started at a time of great social change.
   Just two of many changes in this rural area of Mid-Argyll were: The Loch Fyne herring industry - at its height
   Huge competition among the many paddle steamers plying their trade from Glasgow to the upper reaches of Loch Fyne bringing with them many day trippers and holiday makers.
