My maternal grandmother was Emily PHILLIPS She married Charles Richard RACKHAM CARR in August 1942. Prior to this she had an illegitimate child in 1961 who was my grandfather. He was brought up elsewhere in Chelsea but was given the surname CARR after her marriage although we have no evidence that Charles was indeed the father. Emily CARR died in 1978 as a result of an accident. I have further information on the CARR family. Please punish these dates from the Chelsea News
