Anyone at Roan Girls in approx 1950-54 and remember going to Roan Boys for the dnacing lessons and remember "snakehips" who we tried to avoid asking us to dance with him? Remember the Dancing Teacher? And what about Founder's Day white gloves and all) when apart from the dancing lessons were the only times we were officially allowed to meet the boys? Any one remember Miss Hough (religious Knowledge) and the diminutive French Mistress who scared us all to death and ruled with an iron rod, and those Grammar lessons? Anyone from our crowd remember the appeal from the parish church (ST Alphege) who wrote to the Headmistress ( was that Miss Barnsdale ??) and asked for girls to come and help start up a youth club and swell the parish choir at the same time? Is the uniform the same green one, same colours, same badge? same motto? Honera et labore. Is the school still there
