Came across this by accident. am researching my Sugden relatives [David and Mary, son John], who immigrated to the US in 1943. Mary [who is the Sugden] is supposed to have sold the house when she immigrated. ... now there are Sharps from Yorkshire also, but they have never been connected to Horton Green. ummm
    Great pics!

Hoping someone might remember this place as fondly as myself!!! As a young child between the years 1975 and 1986, my parents and myself would often be seen in La Fontana restaurant at 11 Halliwick Court, Colney Hatch Lane N12 most Saturday evenings. I have the most fond memories of this lovely restaurant and have my fingers crossed that someone else out there remembers it too. Does anyone have a photo of the exterior of the restaurant? Obviously it's not there any more - I believe it's now a takeaway? Does anyone remember the owners, Mary & Angelo? I wonder so much if any information, photographs, memories that other people might have of this place. Anything at all would be very grateful received. Please help me to re-kindle my youth and memories. My father has now passed away and it would be so lovely to hear from anyone else that used to go there. Many thanks.

I lived at 67 khartoum road until 1964.Went to Loxford sec. school 52-56 and recall teachers like Little and Hutchins who loved using the cane.We often went to the lido in Barking park and also the cinema flea pit in Barking. As a teenager was a regular at the Ilford Palais, the Mocha cafe almost opposite and the town hall when they held traditional jazz nights. Great times but not sorry to eventually leave Ilfors

My ‘Intermediate’ years at the old Beckenham School of Art are deeply ingrained; a magical time. Went on to the Central school of Arts & Crafts, then briefly wrote & presented TV programme for STV before it became TVS… followed by a lifetime of varying forms of design for Corporate Clothing, Interiors, Hotels, Fabrics, Textiles, Illustration … a chequered career … still designing/ painting + family life & seven grandchildren ….. Agree – I also was especially influenced by Beckenham teachers – Dr Weissenborn, Fred Packer, Fry, Grahame Arnold, Don Buley … it was a special time.
Was always envious of Bruce Pennington’s skill at impersonating other techniques. !
came to the school at the same time as Sonia Dobson….. haven’t crossed paths since ! What news ?
