Looking forward to meeting up with friends from the past, Dad took me to Brooklands in 1970 for what was our first taste of speedway & yes we did taste it as we stood on the bend little did we know what was coming untill they showerd us in shale, anyway this did not put us off. Since then I & both my son's have been racing in different forms of motorcycling & now my 2 year old grandaughter has 3 bikes ready for her to carry on the family name, who knows maybe the first female speedway grand prix winner. Stan Stevens was my hero of the romford bombers

What a great website! I came across it by accident. Great memories. I too went to Hartshill Bank school probably around the same time as you. I recognise some of the faces in the picture. I remember Mrs Parker very well, the Rowntrees penny tray (yum) and also the Crown Pub corridor! Thanks again. Great job

Hello, I remember a Gary Nicholas from my days circa 1970 at the Orange Tree with my brother John (now sadly deceased), Colin McKay, Malcolm McCandish, Danny McCardle etc. If that's you Gary, I hope you are keeping well. Drove through Friern Barnet recently, no Orange Tree, no Triumph, shame.
