Newspapers we should add next

Tell us what publications would be of most use to you. You can be as general (Victorian cycling magazines) or specific (South Wales Argus) as you wish! We take on board all of your suggestions but are bound by copyright restrictions and our agreements with publishers, these form the boundaries of what we may publish online.

Thank you for getting in touch with us and for your suggestion, David. This is a little too niche for us at the moment, but we are planning to add some more general sporting titles: do vote up ones of interest!

  4. Lost account of Daniel Medoza's assault on Rachel Joel

Neither the collections of the British Library nor that of others online possess a single copy of the "The London Packet, or, New Lloyd's Evening Post" from 28th October 1975.

This particular paper has been claimed to detail the account of Daniel Mendoza (a prominent Jewish-British boxer and historical figure) assaulting a woman and the guilty verdict resulting thereof. If this archive can locate and make accessible a copy of this account, it would be an amazing find!

  5. The Hairdressers' Weekly Journal; The Hairdresser.

The Hairdressers' Weekly Journal often contained obituaries and news about individual hairdressers, information that is next to impossible to find elsewhere. The Hairdresser also contained articles about the hairdressers' union and German immigrant hairdressers.

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately this is a little too niche for us at the moment as we are focussing on digitising newspapers. We will keep this in mind if we expand the project in the future.

    Best wishes,

    Team BNA
