Gathering information on McCosker/McCusker & noticed data from your website & John McCosker.
Currently tracing James McCusker who emigrated from Newham to Sth Africa & have located his Death Notice 1915 & that of his spouse Caroline (Messelberg) in 1925 in Cape Province. However so far cannot find when , where or how he arrived

Good Morning. My name is Athol O’Keeffe I am from a small town in NSW Australia. I am looking to see if anybody could help me find my grandmothers youngest brother Joseph Brown. My grandmother Elizabeth O’Keeffe (née brown from Silvertown) Born 1876. I have had the pleasure of meeting Kit Lee who helped me out tremendously in 2013. Kit showed me where my grandmother lived and also the graves of some of her siblings. I forgot to ask Kit about Joseph. What I can tell you about Joseph is he married Martha Gibney who was living with relatives in Upton Park by the name of Flood James and Rose they were brother and sister and were Blacksmiths. Joseph and Martha married in moylough? not sure about spelling in 1910 witnessed by Harry Devin and Mary Gibney. My great Grandmother Bessie was a Devin. I have also met Karen Crawley in floods Butcher shop in Newham who was kind enough to make enquires for me but to no avail. Martha was born in East Ham and her father worked as a guard on the railway I believe. Joseph had brothers Peter, Henry, Bartholomew (went to Liverpool) and also Patrick the father of Patrick Browne (Paddy) from Halfcarton. A story appeared on your site from Sr Nancy Clarke concerning Paddy and his brother Joe not the Joe I am looking for.
I would appreciate any information on Joseph and Martha as the last information I have is their marriage in 1910.
This is the only sibling of my grandmothers that I cannot find any further info on, it is very frustrating. I will send another email on the weekend on the subject of Paddy Brownes family to see if there are any relatives still alive on that side. Finally if you are reading this Kit Lee or if somebody could mention this to Kit to send an email address so I could get a message to him. I will be back in Ireland in May of this year so hopefully I can clear this family history up as it will be my last trip to Europe. -

Please can anyone tell me anything about the history of West Ham?
I've been intrigued by the fact that in nearly every branch of my Tree, whenever people gravitated towards London in the late 1800s, regardless of which direction they'd come from (ie. Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Suffolk) they all seem to have ended up in West Ham and then a bit later Islington, Edmonton... or Bromley!
Most of them were Labourers of various kinds. But what was the attraction in West Ham

Hi,New to this forum also my first post1 it's christmas time,so have to get my home made 3 lane slot track out for the grandkids to play on.I made the 46 ft track around 1974 and most of the cars come from the same era made with piano wire, brazeing rod, brass plate, inline and anglewinders etc ,etc by now the foam slicks have gone hard with variuos forms of goop aplied('Goddards horse oil or STP engine treatment) and even the rubber fronts are cracked! oh dear! so I joined this forum to catch up on whats new!!looked in the history section and the name Mike Wall came up! he was replying to a article about the Hornchurch Slot Club.I met Mike 45 years ago,He had started the Newham Slot Club so that it was up and running( he was also secratary of the West Ham Club as well) I took over the reigns after a few weeks. The club was located above Hermit's model shop in the Barking Road about half a mile from Upton park football ground. Some of the members names if I remember right were Alan Stevens (no relation)Ray Rodwell?,Dave Pollard,Henry Haddy,Roger Camp (he built the 4 lane track) and the last name was Peter Crane?
who Mike Wall informs me is still involved with the slot racing sceneSo has anybody got memeries of this club would be nice to know!
