The Derry Journal

The Londonderry Journal (later renamed 'The Derry Journal') is one of the earliest Irish newspapers, which was first published in 1772, and is also still being published today. There is a distinct lack of newspapers from the north west of Ulster on the British Newspaper Archive; adding this newpaper set would remedy that!!!

    The complete1880's editions of the Derry Journal are missing.

    As the newspaper is already on microfilm it should be easier to digitise. It is available on microfilm in public libraries etc in Ireland

    I agree, This would be really popular. The Belfast papers really only cover the East of Northern Ireland. The Londonderry Journal would cover the West
