Seeking articles concerning September 7, the first day of the Blitz 29 people were killed at Keeton School, which was being used as a rest centre. The site in Keeton Road suffered a direct hit, with horrifying consequences

After any photos of Pageants Wharf fire station Rotherhithe Street, Bermondsey. It was built in 1903 at a cost of £3280 and had 6 firemen and 1 coachman. The firemen based at the station were not allowed to cross over the swing bridges either end of Rotherhithe Street and Redriff Road. This was to ensure that if a fire broke out between the bridges at least some assistance would be guaranteed. After it closed the building was taken over by the Brooks brothers as a car body repair shop. It is now flats. Thanks

You have barely scratched the surface in uncovering the wonderful and colourful history of south London, I appreciate you have covered parts of West London well but those papers do little to cover the south and as such we are sadly lacking in depth coverage of this wide and densely populated area

I concur have been looking for an extension to the south London press and Mercury for the past two years with no such luck hopefully they will look more into this area shortly
