    Definitely agree with this one. Joseph Cowen's Newcastle Daily Chronicle is the essential resource for the North-East for the period from 1858 onwards. At one period it even became the highest circulation provincial daily in the country, so should certainly be on the BNA. Unlike the Journal (the paper of the establishment - and extremely dull reading), the Chronicle championed the working man, supporting striking miners, and arguing for home rule in Ireland.
