Since the new Editor Christopher Pierce took over from Feb. 2021 English Churchman has been radically de-Protestantized. As one who has read this paper for about 20 years, and has also used historical articles from it back to the 19th century, Pierce is the worst thing to happen to EC for a long time. Some general tell-tale signs of this downgrade are immediately apparent in various editions in e.g., the positive pictorial images and comments on the apostate Anglican, religiously liberal Puseyite, incumbent Archbishop of Canterbury, Abp Welby, whose promulgation of an “other gospel” (Gal. 1:8.9; 3:11) includes, though is by no means exhausted by, e.g., his deep involvement in the ecumenical compromise with Romanism; and whose moral putridity is found in both his promotion of anti-patriarchal sex role perversion with women bishops, priests, and deacons; and his attitudes to homosexual sexual perversion which he refuses to condemn as sin. Pierce’s promotion of anti-patriarchal sex role perversion values are also evident with the “Commentary” of Prudence Daily contrary to the apostolic doctrine, “I suffer not a women to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence” (I Tim. 2:12). Contrary to the confessional standards of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer & 39 Articles, Pierce refused to publish the attached letter upholding the Biblical teaching maintaining the Anglican confessional standards teaching that the Roman Pope is the Antichrist. Such are some of the sad examples of Pierce’s worldly lusts, and the fact that he has struck down, and rendered ineffectual, the Protestant witness of EC.
