Great to hear stories from around the world, of people who have Caverswall connections. Lets keep it going. Will be great to hear from any old school friends from ST Filumenas from the late 60's early 70's
Hi before all you Mancunians Jump on me I know that Manchester and Salford are two places, but there is a reason for my heading :-)
I have been googling all the afternoon to find the names of any newspapers being published in the Manchester and or Salford area in 1973. but without successs.
Cany anyone help with some titles and the possible location of filmed copies which are available for reading.
My putative grandfather Peter McKie was brought up before the Salford or Manchester Quarter Sessions on 14 April 1973 charged with theft and receiving. I am hoping to find a record of the case in the hope that it mentions his birthplace. My grandfather appears on all the censuses from 1955 to 1971 and each time said his place of birth was Scotland !
This is why I need some other source for a birthplace- I have two possible candidates on the OPRs but hope to eliminate one of them at some stage.
