I’m trying to research the history of my former home in Longton .. The address is.151 High street Longton. It is at present empty and boarded up as many more are in this area.
My family lived there from 1920 until 1979, Their name was WARD. I was born here and spent my early years at 151 High street, at this period it was known as High street post office.
my home was one of three shops, 153 next door was also occupied by the WARD family in the late 1960s1970s .
It was then a Mens hairdresser/ newsagent.
I have reason to believe it was originally a Chapel I have family photos of it in the late 1970s when my family were Tailors, in the early 1980s it changed to a post office. I would like to know when it was first built and if there are any old pictures/history ,pre-1970, also "did it have a name". If any one could help me with this request
