He was the younger son of Mr. Edward Hughes who with Mr. Enoch Massey founded the busines 1912. He left two sons Edward Hughes and Kenneth Hughes, His eldest son Alan was killed in WW 1. He also left a daughter Mrs. Malcolmson. I have a 1961 copy of the Pottery Gazette and Glass trade Review reporting his death. I would be delighted to get in touch with my Hughes relatives. Are you one? sincerely Paul Jones

So many memories - set me up for life. - Jamie setting up Kitchen studios in Charles Barry, I remember helping stick the egg boxes on the wall, recording a song with EJ…was that the same Kitchen that became the club??. I recall Jamie taking a jack hammer to the wall of his flat to start a club?….but that resulted in him getting all his studio gear knicked? Jamie Nicholoson where are you? - Playing pool in the Iron Duke….the day I left Manchester the barman (Hopton?) did a lock-in and gave us bottle of Southern Comfort to share - Posing in the White Horse, Hamrick serving behind the bar and remember "Jimmy", he could play pool well even when pissed. One night he was so gone he asked which part of Glasgow he was in - Just drinking in The Junction, The Grants, - Scoring in the Spinners - The PSV, Hacienda - Salmon Taxis and their chicken - The Doberman on the roof of the Henry Royce (I remember the day it fell off!) - Falling white goods!!! - The old guy who moved into one of the lifts on William Kent (a lift that worked!) - The fires, Frances and I had to persuade the guy next door to us to jump of his 6th floor balcony in William Kent down to our 5th floor balcony to avoid being burned to death (we did catch him!). - Oh and the penguins - remember them…At the top of our stair well in William Kent "You are now at the top of the very bottom"….And all those people I can just remember (in no particular order!)…Ras, EJ, Brian, Jem, Barbara, Helen, Frances, Cathy, Chris, Danny, Alex, Hamrick, Jamie, Mandy, Sean, Pete, Olivia, Steve, Steve, Hugo, Anne, Marie….and the rest of you.

Hi! I am having some trouble locating a information on a local legend. The info that I have shows Joan de Baumville, heiress of Whirril Forrest and Stourton marrying in secret Sir William de Stanley at a church in Astbury, Cheshire, England on Sept 27, 1282. The marriage was presided over by William's uncle, Bishop Sir John Stanley, who was rector of a church in Cartlidge. What I am trying to find is the name and location of the church where they married and any info possible on where they lived. Any additional info about their lives would also be appreciated. Thanks!
