Looking for information regarding my father Wilfred JOHNSON born 1900 ,died 1972,Longton Staffordshire. he lived at Furnace road longton with his mother Mary Ellen JOHNSON. This family lived in Furnace road for approx. 50 years.(about three generations) Although WILFRED was born in August 4th 1900 and should have been living with his mother Mary Ellen Johnson and grandmother , MARY Johnson, formerly LEAK. there is no sign of him ON THE 1901 CENSUS My father EVENTUALLY makes an appearance on the 1911 census living with his cousin Edie Lear and his mother Mary Ellen, she had married a John Johnson from Ashwood rd longton in 1908 at St Johns church Longton. ( no relation to my father ) My father when older ran a dancing troupe that performed on Longton Park for quite a long time , he was very musical and played the violin and other instruments . I know very little of his background but do have some photos of him when he was courting my mother . In my collection of memorabilia I have an intriguing photograph of three ,possible teenagers sitting on the running board of an old car ,the date I cannot tell. I was told it came from the actual Johnson family , one of the girls resembles a striking likeness to my self .I would love to find out the rest of the history of the photograph .I would have a guess at the era ...1920/30s If any one would like me to send them a copy please contact me . any thing would be welcome ps....I was born in Longton in 1933and went to the following schools ........... Longton infants school.....Uttoxeter
