My many times Grandfather James Heath was born about 1891. The Parish record of his death states "shotte to death at Stone" and he was buried on 20 Nov 1965 at St Giles Church Newcastle under Lyme. I have been trying to find out the circumstances surrounding this entry. Can anyone help? Also he married an Alice or Ann ( possibly Alice Stimson) but I have seen and now can't find again an entry of a record that stated she was "born over the water". I have taken this to mean in Ireland but again any help would be appreciated in unravelling.
