Over the last year, we have worked with National World to secure an agreement allowing us to digitise and publish more of their content. National World currently have over 200 local and regional titles across the United Kingdom and we are diligently working through them as quickly as possible. While the Portsmouth Evening News is on the plan, please note that turnaround times may vary depending on the accessibility of the material for digitisation.

Im trying to find some information about ancestors and possible living relatives. My father in law is John Gaffney. He has siblings, Peter, Adelheid and Ronald. Their parents were Ronald Albert Gaffney born 1923 and Adelheid Gertrude Berta Kleeman (originally from Germany) born 1928. I am specifically looking for further information regarding the Gaffney side of the family. Ronald and Heidi were married in Portsmouth and originally lived in West Ham, London before then moving to Aylesbury, Australia and then Cornwall. More specifically we are looking for information regarding Ronald's grandparents and siblings etc. Ronald's parents were Albert Edward Gaffney and Lilian (Lily) Ivy Maud Gaffney (nee Roskams). We are unaware of any information regarding Lily but know that Albert's mother may have been called Marie and he had a brother called Alfred John V Gaffney. Lilian's maiden name (Roskams) has been misspelled on some documents and has been written as Roskane. If anyone has any information regarding either this Gaffney or Roskams family then any help would be much appreciated. In the 1961 census Albert and his brother and mother were living with someone called Sarah A Webb (or Webber) and her son, also called Alfred) in London. Please let me know if you have any further information regarding either Albert or Lilian (Lily) and ther families etc. It is also believed that Lilian remarried many year later to a man withthe surname Jefferies/Jeffreys Thanks
