I used to be a member of The Place nightclub in Hanley, Stoke on Trent. (This was in the mid to late 60's). I have in my possession a book entitled "The Place" by Kevin Donovan. (Part One). This book was the Biography of "The Place" Britain's first major Discotheque and covered the years 1962 to 1969 when I stopped going to the club. I would like to know if a second book was published covering later years etc. If anyone can help with any information please contact me on Denaridave@aol.com or just reply to this question on this website. Ideally I would like to obtain any subsequent book or actually contact Kevin Donovan or any of the previous owners of "The Place" nightclub. Many thanks

Anybody remember Granyte surface coatings plc in Salford? My dad worked there 1978 to 1987 as a driver spent a lot of time in the Vav pub run by Dot and Austin, great times. Sadly Granyte has gone and is parking now for Salford van hire the Vav pub has been demolished and a lot of people have since passed, good times of my childhood can’t be demolished or forgotten.
