We take on board all of your suggestions but are bound by copyright restrictions and our agreements with publishers, these form the boundaries of what we may publish online.

  1. Edinburgh Evening News

    How about extending coverage for this newspaper into the fifties. According to the details, it is intended to cover this newspaper up to 1957, however the latest issues are for 1942 (and only February to August for that year) and there has been nothing added since 2015.

  3. Improve Suffolk coverage

    Our local coverage is mostly in the East Anglian Daily Times and the Diss Express, so I find nothing later than 1955.
    I view with envy the more recent editions announced in your emails.
    The Ipswich Journal is great for early material, but please could you combine ‘Ipswich Journal’ with ‘Ipswich Journal, The’.

  5. Lincolnshire Newspapers please.

    More titles from the Lincolnshire and Eastern Counties please such as the Sleaford Gazette. Also completing the Stamford Mercury, Lincolnshire Chronicle and Lincolnshire Echo.

    Excellent coverage of the Hampshire Advertiser which stops abruptly at 1923. Would be extremely useful to extend beyond this date

  8. Isle of Skye, Orkneys, Hebrides and Shetland news

    Researching the disappearance of sheep by ufos in the 1970s these would
    Be a great resource. Also the tales of mass floods and fallen trees will be a joy to behold reliving all those memories again.

    Ps - please add the Leicester Mercury after 1950!! Overwhelming bias towards Scotland on here

  9. More Scottish borders newspapers

    There is a big gap in the 1890's for the Berwickshire News (1893-1900) and the The Berwick Advertiser (1893 -1896 and 1898 - 1903). These papers cover a wide area around the Borders with news from both England and Scotland. A very rich source of information.

  10. The Borehamwood Times and Edgware Newspapers

    Thank you for all the fantastic digitisation and blogs you've been putting together - really amazing, interesting stuff.

    Digitising the Borehamwood Times or any of the Edgware or Watford newspapers would fill a gap that exists in North London / South Hertfordshire between Harrow and Pinner in the West and Hendon and Finchley in the East.

    The Bucks Advertiser & Aylesbury News from 1860 - 1912 is on microfilm. The BNA list this newspaper but only a few of the copies are found. Robert Gibbs, the historian, was the proprietor of the Bucks Advertiser and the archive is the poorer for it being online.

    thank you for your suggestion. Good news! – Leicester Mail fits our inclusion criteria. We have researched the BL catalogue and it is available to us for digitisation. We have added the following years to our Digitisation Plan: 1865-1870

    We are looking forward to digitising this!
