We take on board all of your suggestions but are bound by copyright restrictions and our agreements with publishers, these form the boundaries of what we may publish online.

    Although a limited run, the Herald provides detailed information on those living and visiting the Lakes in the late 19th Century. Could these be made available online? I believe some are on microform at the BL.

    I've been disappointed recently when visiting Glasgow's Mitchell Library that certain old newspapers (which have not been microfilmed) have suffered some water damage, and cannot now be issued to the public. Any chance of you moving these titles nearer the top of your list for digitising?
    Scottish News - only issued February, 1886 to February, 1888
    Scottish Leader - 1891 to 1894

  16. Evening Echo

    I have the first six editions of this Hertfordshire local newspaper, published in Hemel Hempstead by Thomson Newspapers Ltd. The paper was only published between November 1967 and November 1983, when it was closed and ceased publication. This may not set the world alight, but does the British Library archive have any copies and would they like these copies, gratis including P&P? My regards, Bill
