Bowes Park Weekly News
This newspaper ran from 1904 - 1940 when it was incorporated into the Muswell Hill Record. I've been unable to find out why it closed because it seems to have been very successful. It's a very special family run newspaper that reflects life in the new community in Bowes Park and it tells us why local press was and is such an important part of community life and democracy. More local Scottish papers from the interwar period
Many Scottish papers stop around 1914. Carrying on to 1939 would cover not only Great War developments and casualties, but also the General Strike and the lead up to the Second World War in an era which was to change completely after 1945.
