Staffordshire Sentinel
I would like to see the existing dates extended into the 1920 at least. My interest is the effect and aftermath of the First World War on the people of the Potteries.
Dear Readers
We are sourcing what we can from the Library’s holdings and have added 1940-1941, 1943-1950 in the last 24 hours.

Family came from England in the 1930s. Part of the family was the original Founding families of Hampton, NH. I have traced the family supposedly back to Leek, England. Also, have been told the family changed its name in England to protect itself. Any information would be helpful

Thanks to those who have taken the time to provide the images and references on this site. Living on the other side of the globe makes it a little difficult and expensive to obtain such images that can be added to family history references. Of course, I will respect reproduction restrictions and only use for personal viewing and records.

Very thorough and well-presented site. Almost as good as a wander around, which being in Canada is difficult for me. I was looking at the stones to see how they weathered -- not often a geologist gets to look at rocks with their dates written on them -- and have a few questions if anyone is interested in helping in that regard

M y ggrandfather Edward HUGHES (1891 1967) married Mary Ann TURNER ( 1898 1975 ). They moved around the potteries but lived for many years in Fenton. They had 8 children. Edward was a coal miner whose father came from Oswestry originally. Mary Ann was the daughter of Nathaniel TURNER ( see entry under Norton in the Moors ). I would love to hear from and share information with anyone with a connection to this family.

Looking for information on the above. He kept a grocer's shop on Victoria Road, near the junction with City Road. Probably born in Tunstall c. 1954. While I was waiting for the bus to go to Longton High School he occasionally came out to chat. He insisted that we were related..

My name is Pat and I am from Australia. I am a writer and I am currently researching the potter Thomas Parr from Burslem Staffordshire. I already know that Thomas was christened March 1 in 1931, he married Eliza (born 1945) and had at least twochildren - a girl (can't find her yet but she married a 'Durber' and had a son Benjamin in 1960) and a boy Thomas jnr born 1965. Thomas's parents were William and Dorothy - William was a potter too - from a long line of potters in fact. Thomas sold out of the pottery in 1960 to William Kent who continued in business until the 1980s. In 1981 Census the Parrs (and grandson Benjamin Durber) were living in Adam Street Burslem. I am eager to find out if there are any local history sources or associations who would be able to either point me in the right direction for searching from AFAR or be able to undertake research for me (paid). I would like to know birth date, apprentice information, marriage date, death date - anything I can get myhands on about Thomas Parr in fact. Hope to hear from
