More Brighton papers incl. Brighton Gazette 1821-1985
There is no online coverage of Brighton apart from the four years of the Brighton Patriot in the 1830s. The Keep has no intention of digitising any newspapers for the foreseeable future.
Good news! – Brighton Gazette fits our inclusion criteria. We have researched the BL catalogue and it is available to us for digitisation. We have added the following years to our Digitisation Plan: 1825-1871
We are looking forward to digitising this!
Please be aware that until we have received the material into our studio and checked it, it is not possible to guarantee that it will be digitised.

That's brilliant news for genealogists & historians alike.
I was most impressed by the work everyone, especially volunteers have done for family researchers at The Keep, the one & only visit I have made.
This will add a great deal to the already excellent collection of records at this centre.

Any idea when these years might become available?
Good news - The Keep, the new record office for East Sussex and the City of Brighton and Hove has microfilms which may be more comprehensive than yours - maybe worth a thought? They also have more years of the Sussex Weekly Advertiser and possibly , The Gazette and Herald.

There is only one Brighton newspaper online (the short-lived Brighton Patriot) out of more than 50. As well as The Argus, the Herald and Gazette are much needed.
Brighton's leading newspaper - lots of people would be interested.
